Moka
Gâteau Moka or Mocha Cake is a classic French coffee-based cake, thought to be named after the type of coffee beans exported from the 18th century coffee trading port of Mokha in Yemen. Our ode to this classic features a crunchy hazelnut base with alternating layers of rich coffee buttercream and chocolate sponge soaked in coffee syrup and coated in caramelised almond crumbs. If you love coffee, then this is the cake for you.
